This is the view from the outlook at the visitors center. The thin line meandering across the valley floor is the same road that appears winding around the cliff edges on the right and left sides of the photo. The road was once a cattle trail used by ranchers to drive their herds to the “Island in the Sky”, or mesa top, for summer grazing.
